About Creative Impressions

Creative Impressions started in 1989 with a $1,500 loan. Janet started selling rubber stamps at craft fairs, on military bases, carts at the mall & was part of a co-op gift shop. In 1990Janet opened a 400 sq. ft. retail rubber stamp store in the Historic District of Colorado Springs.

Then in 1991 the retail store moved to a 900 sq. ft. store in the same building.

In December of 1995 after graduating from college, Natalie (Janet's oldest of 3 daughters) began working full time in the store.

In March of 1998 the store moved across the street to a 2,500 sq. ft. building that was big enough to combine rubber stamps & scrapbooking. Natalie's main focus was to keep the store stocked with new & exciting products, in addition to working in the store & teaching classes.

One day, Natalie was looking for a product she wanted to use on a project & couldn't find a wholesale source. It was then she began researching, and in January of 2002 Creative Impressions attended "HIA" (now CHA) for the 1st time as a vendor and as the saying goes…"the rest is history!!"

Natalie continues to purchase, develop & design a wide range of embellishments continually expanding the Creative Impressions wholesale line.

As we met the changing needs of our personal lives & wholesale business, we realized the life style required to also run a retail store had become increasingly difficult. The decision was made in March 2004 to close our retail store of 15 years.

It was a decision that was bitter sweet & filled with emotion, saying goodbye was difficult, since our retail customers were like family. Now we have a new family with our "wholesale" customers.

Thanks to Natalie's creativity, insight & hard work, and with the added inspiration from our staff, customers & designers the business has grown by "leaps & bounds" and we have already outgrown our 8,900 sq. ft. warehouse that we moved into in the fall of 2004.  In May 2008 we moved into a new wide-open 11,400 sq. ft. warehouse, and where we planned to call "home" for a while, we realized very quickly we did not fit.  As of December 2008 we found the 16,100 sq ft warehouse next door would fit our needs much better for years to come!
